I'm sorta new to modding on Xcom 2 and I managed to get hold of the alternative mod launcher and it's been working wonders for me on wotc. But right now I found other mods that aren't from the Steam workshop that I want, and I honestly don't know how to exactly have the mod launcher work with it. 3 The Hive. Arguably this is by far one of the hardest and best Xcom 2 mods you can download. The Hive, which was created by a team of 11 popular modders is an unforgiving but brutally fun addon that can cause complete anarchy at times, especially on some of the higher difficulty missions. Once you are inside Steam, launch XCOM 2 and when the XCOM 2 launch window starts, your mods will most likely still not be present. The trick is to start the game and get at least to the main menu, and then exit the game; once you've fully started the game at least once your subscribed mods should load in the XCOM 2 launcher upon the next launch.


To install a mod manually: Open the Steam application. Select Library. In the list of games on the left-hand side of the window, right-click on XCOM 2, then select Properties. Select the Local Files tab. Select Browse Local Files. The “XCOM 2” folder will open. Navigate to XCOM2Data/xcomgame/mods. If the “mods” folder does not already exist, you should create it yourself. Proceed to your XCOM 2 Directory, Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2. Right, click ModLauncherWPF under the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen (WOTC) Files.
